2020 Award Nominations

Volunteer of the Year

1. Wendy Grater - took over Ontario Technical Director, lead CC Training session, and certified two Course Conductor apprentices.

2. Elizabeth Nicholson (took on the Telemark Director's role after Rob Henderson resigned in addition to being a Finance Director; she was also instrumental in getting Telemark course finances in great shape and helped Gavriel in submitting the XC course results.) 

3. Gavriel Lakhozviansky (managed very well all the XC course re-scheduling and course reporting despite being seriously ill during the first half of the winter)

4. Gavriel - Countless hours spent co-ordinating our courses over the years.

5. Gav - for having to deal with all the course disruptions caused by an uncooperative mother nature.

7. Gavriel: he worked really hard to get XC programs to run using the new website and supported CCs very effectively, incl. entering course results. 

8. Elizabeth Nicholson. Elizabeth has been our Finance Director as well as Technical Director for Telemark. She has sat on the Technical sub committee which is working on our new Manual and spent many hours with this.

9. Jan Vopalensky - for years of excellent service to the Nordic ski community and leading CANSI Ontario

Instructor of the Year

1. Francoise Chatenoud - have run 6 great courses in Ottawa, Pembroke and Barrie.

2. Wendy Grater (she has gone beyond the normal CC responsibilities to ensure many of the XC courses that were nearly being cancelled are run this past winter)

3. Wendy - Have always had good experience and results for that matter. Strong feedback to help with progressions.

4. Peter Rasberry - Peter has contributed to CANSI for over 4 decades as a very affable and knowledgeable course conductor. He keeps up with current pedagogy and teaching skills.

5. Steve Kahn

6. Wendy: she did a great job pulling together the XC II-III course while apprenticing for her CC III and mentoring me on my CC II. Have always had good experience and results for that matter.

7. Francoise Chatenoud. Francoise is a keen, committed and enthusiastic Course Conductor. She is well prepared for each course and is a great CANSI ambassador.
